The Opportunity of Networking

I'm confused to what people think Networking is, especially what it means to like minded people. It seems that everyone is involved in some type of business but never wants to really looking into another’s. It seems that everyone feels that the business that they are currently involved in is the ultimate one. They also can't see the potential of another business that can enhance what they are doing. For Example everyone is on this site to promote a business. I'm pretty sure most of yall frequent MySpace or Facebook, it’s just another way of advertising/promoting your business. I know people that have a business but don’t find the need to come to this site and Network. I find it hard to believe that most would pass up an opportunity of a business that may fit them or better yet increase the one they already have. All of this, in the name of: My Business is Better than Your Business. Wow! That’s amazing to me. Can anyone please explain why most are reluctant to pursue an opportunity but eager to present their own opportunity?
